Chicken paws and chicken feet are often used differently in trade. Here is what commercial buyers should define before requesting a quotation.

Use precise product language

In international poultry trade, buyers may use “paws” and “feet” differently depending on market convention and processing specification. Avoid relying on the product name alone. Ask for photographs and a written description of the cut and processing condition.

Specify grade, size and appearance requirements

Commercial buyers should confirm size range, skin condition, nail requirements, cleanliness, bruising tolerance and any other quality criteria important to the destination market. These details have a direct effect on sorting, packing and price.

Confirm frozen format and carton configuration

Paws and feet can be packed in different frozen formats and carton weights. State whether you need IQF or another frozen presentation, preferred inner packs, carton net weight and container quantity.

Documentation depends on origin and destination

Product eligibility and health or inspection documentation vary by market. Include the destination country in the RFQ so the supplier can review the processing establishment and documentary requirements before a shipment is offered.
